A Little About Me
I’m Tricia L. Griffith, a contemporary fantasy author drawn to stories where magic intersects with the modern world. I write emotionally grounded fantasy for adult readers, inspired by myth, folklore, and a strong sense of place.
I’m especially interested in stories about responsibility, connection, and second chances—about people who discover that the world still holds more for them than they once believed.
I love characters who grow over the course of their stories: empowered, capable women, honorable men, and LGBTQ+ heroes finding their footing in a world that’s larger and stranger than they expected. And yes—sometimes there are cats.
More about my work
My goal is to tell stories that you can imagine happening in real life. That dream we all have of waking up one day and learning that magic is real. I want to introduce you characters that you can see yourself having a cup of coffee with; adults who have been shaped by lived experiences. People who are competent, flawed, and already carrying the weight of full lives when magic finds them.
My stories explore what happens when ancient, earth-based magic reemerges in the present day—not as a source of power, but as a responsibility tied to history, past lives, and connected destinies. I draw my inspiration from Druidic traditions, folklore, and real-world places.
With a background in the visual arts, I approach storytelling with a sense of place, texture, and atmosphere. I live in Maine, where forests, coastlines, mountains, and small towns inspire me every day. Tree of Life is my debut novel.
